I think I should have put in there: The cat is a fluffy chew toy. When he squeaks, it's only that much more fun to chew on him.

Very funny, Norena! Yes, you've got it pretty bad at your house, attending to the royal whippets...and the list from Roxy, perfect!

I enjoyed it.

I can't find it, but Sharyn Hutchins (Timberblu) who also had collies, wrote a funny little list entitled

'How I Acquired Humility and Learned to Love Whippets'.

9. Sure, they have a small head. However, they can easily take over the entire pillow. They especially love the expensive memory foam ones. You can buy them their own, but they still want to "share" yours. You might as well just give in to the hound.

Pillow? Boy is your whippet taking it easy on you. Any one of mine can take over the entire bed when they want to. 6 inches is the maximum allowed section of bed allowed to humans as per the "Whippet Woos of Order."

This list is a keeper! :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

I love this post & thread so much that I want to save it and read it whenever I'm in a funk. It will make me laugh every time, and put life back into perspective.

Thanks also for the very entertaining documentation by Norena!

I could see this list being expanded to a Top 100 Tips, with everyone on WW adding and voting on entries, with supportive photo documentation. It could be titled something like this:

"What Being Owned by a Whippet Has Taught Me:
Betcha Can't Have Just One, and 99 Other Life Lessons"

Now, if we could only reform all governments to be run by dogs, the world would be a better place. :)

P.S. I just saw Hieland's post, mentioning "Whippet Woos of Order" -- that title wins 5 howls!

Squirrels are not cute little furry creatures frolicking in the trees. They are evil rodent furballs plotting world domination and they must be stopped! Squirrel? Where?

I absolutely agree with the list.
May I also add!

- Whippet noses are cold and wet and must be placed in an area that will gain the maximum result i.e up the back of shortie pyjama's when your human has first got out of bed in the morning. It is needed to make sure the human is awake and can repond to Whippet demands.
- 25 different coats are all required really, see they are different thicknesses, patterns, materials. I need every single one of them. Same can be said for collars, you never have enough!
- Whippets draped on furniture are art.
