New Whippet Puppy Pigment

Postby Indiwhippet » Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:36 am

:D Hi! We just got a beautiful boy! He’s 8 weeks old. He has a bit of pigment missing on his nose. The Breeder said it would turn black however the vet said differently. Can someone please offer advice, info, resources? Many thanks!!!!

He's a cutie. :romance-inlove: Are you planning to show him? If not, don't even worry about it.

I can't see how much isn't pigmented in that pic very well, because it's tiny on my computer. If he's only 8 weeks old and is just missing a tiny bit of pigment, I would think it very likely to fill in. Looks like he possibly has full pigment around his eyerims already.

These pups are 8 weeks in this pic, and all of them have fully black noses as adults.

What a cute pup! Yes, that is a really small pic, but I'd agree - at 8 weeks it's very early and it will probably fill in. And as Marcia said, it's not a huge issue unless you plan to show, in which case you probably have a contract that would come into play?
