Scabby ear - ear margin seborrhea

Postby Sarahofsydney » Mon Jun 24, 2019 8:45 am

Hi,

Our sweet boy developed a funny bald patch on the end of one ear in Feb. The vet said not to worry. It goes through phases of looking rather nasty with scabs on the edge of the ear and also looking almost fine just bald. This week however its taken a turn back to looking nasty. My Google search (yes, yes, I know, worst thing to do!) suggests it looks like ear margin seborrhe but the vet says its nothing.

Thoughts on getting a second opinion? I want to trust the vet but also want my boy to be ok. I know he has been very uncomfortable with it this week and his mood is low as a result.

I cannot remember how to attach photos so here is a link https://share.icloud.com/photos/0Xs0Eon54NZZPSaToThZgVjiA

Thank you
Sarah

I had a vet recommend Douxo Seborrhea Dog Shampoo for my dog who is on fluconozole and a low dose of prednisone: https://www.chewy.com/douxo-seborrhea-d ... gL5TvD_BwE

He's got dry scaly skin and I was told he'll keep having it until he's off the pred. It might be worth a try.
