There are two ways to add photos to your posts. The first way describes how to add pictures that are already hosted on the web, either on your own web site or photo hosting service, such as Photobucket, Imageshack, Flickr, etc. The second method is if you do not have photo hosting and want to upload photos directly from your computer.
Recommended Method: Photos Already on the Web
Please note that this is the preferred method for posting photos on Whippet World, it saves us space and bandwidth, both of which cost us more money. Plus, you only have to follow the width and height restrictions using this method and don't have to worry about the file size. If your photos are already on the web all you need is their address or url. You can find it by right clicking on the image, in Firefox or Chrome you chose "Copy Image location", in IE you have to click "Properties" then find the Address/URL and highlight and copy it using Control + C, in Safari it's Control-click then "Copy image address." [Note: If you are using Photobucket all you need is the where it says "IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards"] Once you have the image address you will see a button above the text box that says Img. You can either click that and then paste the url of you picture between the tags, or paste your url first, then highlight it and then click the Img button and it will automatically place it before and after your url. As an example, this is what your finished code should look like:

Some free photo hosting sites: Flickr, ImageShack, Photobucket, Picasa, SmugMug, Shutterfly and SnapFish Some of the managers use Picasa and Photobucket, let us know if you need any assitance getting your photos from these sites posted to Whippet World.
*Please Note: images linked it this manner can be a maximum size of 950 x 800 pixels (thats width x height). Any larger than that and they will break the tables on the board and cause people to have to scroll sideways to read.
Second Method:Adding Photos from Your PC
Scroll down to the "Choose File" button and find the file on your computer. Click "Add the file". Depending on the file size it may take some time to upload. You can do this again and again for as many photos (up to 10) as you'd like to add. Click the "Preview" button to see what the pictures look like. You will also see a drop-down box with your photo names in it that says "Place Inline." What this allows you to do is put your pictures exactly where you want them in your message. If you want them interspersed throughout the text, rather than in a row at the end of the message, use the inline function. The maximum file size you can upload is 100kb. File sizes for attached images are severely limited to encourage everyone to use their own photo hosting.
This is a video which demonstrates the second method. Apologies if it seems to loop or skip, its the player, but it was the best place we could find for hosting videos where you could actually read the text. Hopefully it will be helpful.
